So, I neglected to go to work today. You see, I was supposed to work from 16-19, but when I'd called yesterday to get my schedule, the person I talked to said I worked on Wednesday, not Tuesday. Now, I certainly could have checked the schedule for myself, and I should have known something was wrong since I've asked for Wednesdays off, so please don't think I'm trying to pass blame. In fact, I was feeling really bad about it for a while.
I first realized this problem around 5:23PM today while I was at fencing. Culvers called my house, and from there my mom called me, told me the situation, and I called Culvers. The lady I talked to sounded pretty peeved, and I felt really bad, so at 7:30PM, when I'd taken my shower and everything, I went over to apologize in person to show that I care and wasn't just blowing off my hours. Fortunately, they were pretty nice about it, and I certianly intend to not let it happen again in the future. So that was my little adventure for the day, and I'll definately not be missing my shift from 2:30-7:00PM this Saturday. :)

Pretty Cool
Good news everyone, I now have a picture camera! That's right, now I too can annoy people by snapping unexpected photos of them. :D And how much do you think I paid for this camera? You guessed it, zero dollars! You see, it has about a half row of defective pixels that make a bit of a pinkish line in most pictures. Thus, my parents got a new camera, and I got the old one. :) So it's not like it's the best camera in the world, but I'm no photographer, and it should be more than adequate for any of my relatively casual needs. Because of it I may actually start putting albums up on facebook since I'll be able to take my own photos. I've already started to do that in fact, as most of you have seen with the anime album I put up recently. Also, there will be another album soon with my recent drawings (which are much, much better). It will be up as soon as I can get my drawing pad back from the Carpenters. lol I knew you'd all be terribly excieted about this (especially Elecia), so I thought I'd give you a bit of a "teaser" about it (especially Elecia). hehe ;)

Angry
So, I'm in an extremely foul mood right now because I just took a physics test and only got 25 of 30 questions right. Now, had it been a hard physics test, perhaps that would be okay, but it was super easy. In fact only one question was actually difficult (which, incidentally, I got wrong). The other four wrong answers were the result of absolutely retarded errors. Thinking in two problems, for example, that acceleration increases when an object's initial velocity is greater than zero! It wasn't even disguised under anything! Grrr. It just makes me really angry that, had I not been an idiot, I would have gotten a 97% on test instead of, of, . . . . . . .83%

Not So Sure
I don't really know why, but I'm really fuzzy eyed and tired this morning. I mean, I didn't get to bed until about 12:30AM, but I didn't get up until almost 9:00AM. However, I did have my alarm set for 7:30AM and was just hitting my ten minute snooze button for about an hour and a half, so that might have something to do with it.
Another thing I'm not so sure about is playing an entire half an hour of piano music all on my own. Digging up every last little bit of my current, and even semi-current, repertoire, I could only get about 25 minutes of music. I mean, add in a couple of minutes for inbetween time, but I can get five minutes out of that. Anyway, I'm going to learn the first movement of a Celmenti sonatina that's really easy. The main thing I'm worried about though is just being able to keep up my concentration. I tend to have a problem with that, and I'll need it for peices like Liebestraum and Rachmaninoff's prelude in C# minor. :P
But there you have it. A little update about me. :)

Children
I have noticed this before: children are wonderful.
I would even hazard to say that they are superior beings to adults, and here is why: they are innocent. They have innocent, vivacious, curious, joyous, trusting minds and personalities. I think this is the primary reason why they are so lovable, and why it is so terrible to be mean to them.
I'm sure that's completely obvious, and you all had that all figured out long ago, but it just "formalized" itself in my mind, that the wonder of children is their innocence.

Bach
Yesterday, (Sunday), I went to a performance of the first six preludes and fugues in Bach's Well Tempered Klavier. That alone would have been cool enough, but the performer, from the Madison Bach Society, did a bunch of talking about the pieces, and about Bach before he played. Also, he was playing on a harpsichord that one of the guys in the audience had built. Though the performer clearly knew all about it too. It had a really cool sound (of course), and there were two sets of strings, one tuned an octave higher than the other. He could switch between one or the other, or play both at the same time! There was also a lute stop, which also had a very cool effect.
Another cool thing about it was the tuning. Instead of using the modern even tone tuning (each not is exactly the same distance apart), he was the Well-Tempered tuning used in Bach's time. Now, contrary to what you might think, our current tuning is not necessarily better than the Well-Tempered tuning. In fact, the Well-Tempered tuning was used almost exclusively up until WWI, and by WWII and after, everyone had switched almost exclusively to the Even Tone tuning. What the WT tuning does is give each key its own "character," whereas in ET they all sound the same. This has a very cool affect, and makes much of the classic music sound worlds better, though I'm not sure what it would do to some of the more modern pieces (ones by Rachmaninoff, for example).

Really Fast
Okay, time for a really fast update (i.e. I don't have much time).
So, what's been happening with me? Lots of school mostly. However, I have started piano lessons again, and I'm playing some really cool pieces. Also, this and last week I managed to make it to fencing twice, so I'm hoping I'll be able to keep that up. Rigel (the band I'm subbing as piano player in) had a wedding performance last Sunday. Overall it went quite well, and it was extra cool because the wedding was Renaissance themed. Last night I got a bit farther in my piece, which is exciting. I'm into the second to last section, and I wrote a cadenza for it! That's very exciting for me. Finally, I have more to say about how reading the Bible is fantastic and amazing, along with a person experience that I thought was cool. But! that will have to wait until I have more time. :P (This evening perhaps?)
